ROBERT KLEMMER | Special Exhibition

February 21 - March 07, 2025 (EXTENDED UNTIL MARCH 31, 2025)

We are pleased to present rarely shown masterpieces by the Austrian self-taught artist Robert Klemmer as a special exhibition in the Konzett Gallery for two weeks.

Robert Klemmer was born in Rappoltschlag, Lower Austria, in 1938. The artist died tragically in Vienna at the age of just 33, leaving behind an impressive body of work. In 2020, numerous works by the artist were shown in the exhibition "The Beginning. Art in Austria 1945 to 1980" at the Albertina in Vienna.

Robert Klemmer's works focus entirely on the artist himself. Typically in his distinctive, striped suit, Klemmer is concerned with self-expression and the external perception of the self. Between the poles Surrealism, Viennese Actionism and American Pop Art, Klemmer developed his very own, razor-sharp realism.

DISRUPTION ZONES | TIMELESS SUSTAINABILITY

January 14 - March 15, 2025

Art agitates and irritates.

It breaks through the usual and everyday and thus provides food for thought for new, often unconventional perspectives. It opens up moments of reflection on our self-evident worldview and calls for an examination of the unconscious realities of human existence.

These trouble zones which art enables in everyday life exist outside the construct of time and so they give opportunity to the possibility of a sustainably relevant debate.

Art from Africa, Oceania and Indonesia paired with works by PAUL RENNER, JOSEPH BEUYS, ARNULF RAINER, OTTO MUEHL, FRANZ WEST, GÜNTER BRUS, HERMANN NITSCH, CHRISTIAN EISENBERGER and ALLEN JONES.
